Well the first week back at the Mount is officially over and once again I have lived to tell the tale. It being the first weekend back, I have been suffering from some serious procrastination. I have had it in my head that this could be the last weekend in a long time that I will be free to do as I please, which involves a Friday night and an entire Saturday without homework...and that I did. :)
Let's see. Friday night all of my long lost friends and I prettied ourselves up to hang out at a friend's house here in Yankton. It was fun to have everyone together again! Yesterday I slept in until 9:30, which was fabulous beings I have had to be up by 8:20 at the latest for the entire week. The track team had a meet at the dome at USD, so my friend Brittany and I went to watch some of the events. I thought track was one sport from high school I would never ever miss, but sitting there in jeans as nothing but a spectator almost made me want to come back to school and join the team and run the 4x8 relay again. But, today has now rolled around, and that thought sounds utterly absurd as I type it. We returned to Yankton and headed to Charlie's pizza with nearly our entire floor of girls (we're quite a friendly crew in Bede) for some of the best homemade pizza around.
Now at this point, I must remark that I had done phenomenally well at thoroughly avoiding homework for the day. So, I came back to the dorms, and chatted with some friends until 10:00 at which time going to the My Bloody Valentine 3D movie sounded like a good idea. Three of us went, and paid $10 for the ticket and the 3D nerd glasses. I had gone with the sole intention of being scared out of my wits. I left wanting to vomit more than anything. The 3D had it's moments, but it was not nearly as intense as I thought it would be. Though I gasped and hunkered down in my chair, it was more a case of jumpiness than actual fear. I also let out a lot of disgusted noises. It was a gory movie if I've ever seen one. The things our generation does for entertainment....
On our way back into the dorms after this movie adventure, I was shaking uncontrollably from the cold, incredibly stiff, and starting to feel jumpy. Right outside the door, we heard a barking noise, and attributed it to the campus dog, Sugar, initially, but then the bark started yelling at us. We screamed and rushed inside feeling like we were being followed the entire way. It turned out that a friend in the hallway knew the source of the barking. Some kids....trying to scare innocent beings. :)
And now, it is Sunday. I have put off an increasing mound of homework for far too long, and so I must now crack down. It's a new week, so I suppose it's only fitting. I'm on top of things already having cleaned my room, done my dishes and laundry, and gone to church. I'm not OCD except for Sunday mornings....I do those things every Sunday morning when I'm in the dorms. :)
Have a great week everyone!
